Meet Jazzlyn! I first met Jazzy when she was just 10 years old! She was diagnosed Nov 3, 2009 at the age of 10 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Now this beautiful woman is 19 years old!!!! Something extra special about her…she was one of the very first patients I had the honor of caring for. My heart is so happy to see her 9 years later, happy and healthy.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE GREATEST CHALLENGE FOR YOU?

Throughout my 2 1/2 years of treatment my greatest challenge was learning I could not do the activities I once did before. I remember seeing my friends running and riding their horses and knowing I couldn’t hurt so much.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM GOING THROUGH THIS JOURNEY?

My journey has taught me many different things from, giving to others that need it, being appreciative, but the most important lesson was loving my life. I learned that you only have one life, you only get one chance to do what your heart wants to do. So I have tried my best to live my life to the fullest.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU HAVE TO ANYONE WHO IS GOING THROUGH WHAT YOU ARE/WERE GOING THROUGH?

The advice I would give to someone who is going through a similar journey is to be strong. There will be times that you feel like giving up because it is getting too hard, but don’t. Don’t give up, you are so much stronger than you think. You can do it!
